The word Ayurveda means “Knowledge of Life”.
Ayurveda is the world’s most ancient health system. Developed in India over 6,000 years ago, Ayurveda is a natural approach for creating balance and strengthening the body’s healing abilities.
Ayurvedic Medicine is based on the concept of the three doshas, known as Vata (regulates movement), Pitta (regulates metabolism) and Kapha (regulates structure). One’s individual mind/body constitution is determined by the natural predominance of one or more of these three doshas in the body.
Ayurveda teaches that every living organism is made up of a combination of the three doshas, and that the doshas themselves are a combination of two of the five elements; Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth. The three doshas work together in a constant interplay of energies which can easily go out of balance, leading to an imbalance or disorder in the body or mind.
Ayurveda will help you feel better about life and have greater energy and enthusiasm.
Ayurvedic Consultations are conducted to determine a person’s unique constitution. Through this consultation the nature of a person and any imbalances are identified. Then, a customized treatment program will be designed which may incorporate one or many modalities such as nutrition, herbal compounds, yoga, meditation, chakra work, and lifestyle recommendations.
Healing imbalances at their root is the ultimate goal of Ayurveda. Many times, the root imbalance lies in the digestive system and/or in the mind.
The purpose of this program is to help you restore or maintain balance.
By appointment only.
